This appears to be a nice, normal family photography from the Victorian age.
However the girl in the middle is dead.
Because photography was still fairly expensive, a “death” was one of the few occasions worthy enough of forking out for a photograph.
You can tell the girl in the middle is dead, because due to the long exposure time, her parents have both blurred due to natural movement. The girl however, is deadly still.
